Dear Sweets*

Written by Sweets*

Dear Sweets*,
one of my old friends is blaming me for signing up for car insurance for her in my name. I told her that
I didn't do it but she won't believe me. She told me she's been getting phone calls and mail asking for
me. What do I do?

Dear Stevie ☆彡,
This is a very serious accusation from your friend and requires your immediate attention. I suggest that
you go to the car insurance office and straighten up this misunderstanding with them before you find
yourself caught in any legal matters. This is the only way I can see this problem getting resolved with
your friend :)

SWEETS*!!
I have a quiestion. How will you know if you're in love? :3

My dear▼ღNaomi Booღ▼ ,
What a beautiful question you have for me!!!  I am no expert on love but I will tell you how I personally
know when I am in love. When I am in love I can't stop smiling and every time I think of him, I giggle. I
keep playing in my head over and over again the beautiful way he talks to me and my heart smiles. If I
am asleep, I am dreaming about him and when I wake up, I am still dreaming about him. When I am
near him I get butterflies in my heart and my tummy and my heart goes crazy every time he says my
name. He makes me laugh like no one else can and I could spend the whole day by his side without the
need to say a word as long as he is near me. And every love song reminds me of him and the sun seems
to shine brighter like it never did before. :))))

Dear Sweets*,
My best friend that I've known for about 4 years is making up rumors about me on Pico.
Now people are startin to hate me! The thing is I haven't talk to her on Pico in about 1-2 months!
What should I do?

Dear Gαв ℓαяαмιє,
Just ignore her Gab, people that like to spread rumors about friends or former friends should be
ashamed of themselves. An honorable person would respect the friendship even if this was already over
and not go spreading poison around about someone they once cared for. They don't measure the
consequences of how serious these could be. People can get seriously hurt. With time this girl will either
get tired and move on to making someone else miserable, which is very sad, or hopefully, she'll grow up
and realize that what she is doing is not right and she'll stop.

Dear Sweets*,
is it normal for ppl o change thir looks? lol. hts cuz i never changed mylook...

Hi again! :P
I have noticed that most Picos not only keep changing their names but their looks as well. I don't think
is normal or not normal to do so. It's like they say... to each its own.... whatever makes you happy its
OK. I personally don't like changing my face. I do change my hair and hair color often but never my
face. I did change my skin color several times for my friend Catero and on another occasion, I changed
my mouth for a Christmas article, but that was just for a few minutes. My face is exactly the same since
day one and I intend to keep it that way.

Apple 苹果 and МαгϊεJапз εїз Story

In life, we all need friends. They are the source of happiness we have when we feel down. I particularly met someone who was there for me when I felt like stuck underground. And I'm proud to tell you all our story. Which is between me and my best friend МαгϊεJапз εїз.

We first met in an event- Not exactly "meet". But let me preface it by saying we saw each other for the first time. I was looking up on the events list some hotels when I decided to go in hers. I was trying to chase her around and tell her that her hotel was ugly and that Rhenjhennel 's was much better. Until she spoke up and said something like, "Hey I know you!!" and I looked at her pico name then I was completely embarrassed for doing such a rude thing. I had no idea on how she knew me. Without thinking twice, I just ran out the room before she kicked me out.

A few months have come around and faith has stepped in allowing us to meet again. When I was shouting out words using the events to my buddy who I hated at that time, she came with two of her buddies. I viewed her profile and I was shocked to see her again. Without ado, I stepped beside her and apologized for what I did before. She didn't remember much about it, but she forgave me and laughed about the scenario. It was the start of our friendship.

Since then we have always been there for each other. Through the bad and the good. Friends don't need to have the same appearance or a trademark handshake or whatever to signify they are best friends. It's more on how you give importance to one another. Though it's just the Internet and we could possibly stop our connection, we have this something that we always fight for our friendship. We've had rough times, too. That will always be natural to every other friendship you come across. It's always important to give importance to everything they do. It's what you do that makes you who you are as a friend.

We haven't met in real life, but we dream of that. We brainwash ourselves trying to think of a way on how we could see each other. It's a good thing we live in the same country but we reside in different provinces. Someday I know we're gonna meet, dangerous maybe since we're both young. But we've seen each other in web cams and that's good to know. I'm thankful that I met her because I can not imagine my life in pico without friends.

If you are interested in sharing with us your Pico friendship story, please send it to our picoperfect email address and I will gladly post it for you.

*Article MUST be 150 to 300 words long.

Discrimination Awareness Stories

Thank you so much for sharing some of your stories with us.

Written by: ƒøяτυиε¢øøќιε

In real life, I have a two year old little sister. So naturally, I find it funny that a Dora the Explorer look-a-like comes to one of my events. We talk and have tons of funny events.

Then haters start coming. They say that the Dora look-a-like is ugly, a newb, even some bad words I prefer not to say that they somehow managed to get past the profanity filter with. I tell them it's a joke, that she is really a funny and nice person. They just go on saying that Dora is gay, stupid, and that I am too because I stood up for her! I tell them that the events were held in honor of my little sister, a huge Dora fan, and that it wasn't nice of them to trash on someone they don't know. They said that my little sister was gay too! I find it horrible that people are such haters toward you when you're just looking to have some nice, clean, G rated fun.

Why don't we just acknowledge that all Picos don't have to be so perverted and disgusting to have fun events that are not related to boyfriend/girlfriend events?

Here is some of my stories from past discrimination incidents I had that kind-of hit me at home; One time I was minding my own business and having fun at a fashion show but one of the girls got upset because I won first place in a certain theme and she had the nerve to say "ew go away you albino freak" and a few other names that I am not in the mood to say.

Another incident is when I was in the English park talking with a friend until a random guy walked to my friend and asked her if she was single and might I add this friend is a good friend in the real world and she's my "play" little sister, so therefore I was being protective of her. i told the guy to scram and (lack of better words) f*** off, she's not that desperate to find a mate and the guy said "Don't get mad cause you don't have a bf, you stupid four-eyed ugly albino b****" and I just wanted to punch this guy in the mouth and tell him something, I have you know, I have a wonderful boyfriend in the real world and we have been happily together for 8 months and in a recently literary test I took, it said that I was reading above average and I was reading better than 94% of students in the U.S (It is very rare for a 15 year old in the city I live in to be make these scores) so he had no right to call me such names.

It hit me hard at home because I look almost exactly as my pico and its enough I have to put up with the name calling and the put-downs in the real world but in a game? Its quite pathetic to say the least.

Today I encountered an “Oldbie” saying A LOT of rude and uncalled for insults to a poor “Newbie” that came to her friend`s event! She was constantly cussing and yelling at him to go away…kind of similar to your latest post; the “Move away Newbie” incident.

Another thing is…this was at one of those dumb “Hot or Not” events. Believe me…I totally agree with the whole….”Stop These Rude, Uncalled-for events”. I went there to try to stop them from hurting the Picos that aren`t “Hot” in the creator’s perspective. Anyway…she just wouldn`t stop even when I tried to tell her it wasn`t right!

I don`t get why people with Ameba Gold think that suddenly they own the whole game >.< As you said…it was created for EVERYONE! Well…thank you for listening and I hope you`re having a great Pico Life J

The ABCs of discrimination

This week Sweets* (who recently changed her name from sweet_mom) has been posting  a very important message about standing up against discrimination.

Before deciding on whether to stand for or against any issue you should take time to educate yourself and get to know what its all about, right?

What is discrimination?
Discrimination is treating somebody differently and unfairly because of their:
  • age
  • culture/heritage
  • disability
  • financial situation
  • gender
  • race
  • religion
  • sexual orientation
  • skin color
  • any other personal characteristics
A person who discriminates against another person does something to make that person feel less then human and that they are less deserving of the rights that we are all entitled to as human beings.

The most common types of discrimination are racial remarks and slurs, being called disrespectful names and being the target hurtful jokes.

Discrimination is unfair people are treated based on something superficial that they can usually not control and takes no account of a person's character or accomplishments.

Why does discrimination happen?
It's quite simple. Discrimination exists and survives because we allow it to. We carry it out or we watch silently as others do it.

When you assume that what you do, how you do it and what you believe in is "normal," and that other's who do not share your views are abnormal and less intelligent or less deserving of what you feel you are entitled to in life you are walking on dangerous ground.

Throughout history this attitude has lead to people living all over the world being denied basic human rights - the right to an education, to be employed, to be married or be connected to family, to vote, to live in a community of their choosing, to justice, etc.

Discrimination Awareness Week

DAY4

The "move away newbie" incident

Back in December on Christmas Eve Catero and I decided to hang out in Pond Park for old time's sake. That is where we first met and I wanted to recapture the beginning of our friendship. I was hoping we would wait to midnight and usher Christmas day in together. Everything was proceeding very enjoyably until discrimination reared its ugly head.

Catero noticed something that was going very wrong between two girls. As you may know, Catero finds it hard to stand by while injustices or misbehavior go on.

Leaving my side, Catero went to observe the situation more closely. The "victim" was a newer Pico (the Newbie) that had been sitting at the park on one of the tree trunk stumps. The instigator was an long time Pico player (the Oldbie) who felt that she had the right to command the newbie to get up and move because she wanted to sit there despite the fact that there were many other spots to settle down.

As Catero got closer to the girls he tells Newbie that she can stay right where she is if that's what she wants. He then turned to Oldbie and tells her to leave the other girl alone. Of course, this girls reaction didn't wait and all hell breaks loose. The girl exploded into a rage of insults towards Newbie, Catero and to other Picos who had stepped into defend Newbie as well.

From a distance I was seeing how the situation was escalating. The insults from this girl were getting worse. Newbie kept her cool, not speaking often and largely ignoring Oldbie's vulgarity. Catero managed to keep his cool, calmly defending Newbie's right to sit where she wanted while an angry Oldbie threw hateful, hurtful words in their direction.

I went and stood beside Newbie and Catero to show my support. Several other Picos had done the same - particularly when Oldbie started to say some racist things about people's color and where they were from. When Catero noticed how upset I was and suggested that I may want to protect myself form Oldbie's hatred by keeping my distance. As I walked away, I noticed that many of the Picos present at the time had surrounded Catero and the two girls. I was very happy and relief to see that many of the people in the crowd were supporting Newbie.

Consequentially, the girl exploded into maximum rage and started attacking everyone in the crowd but keeping Catero as her main target. All you could see where Picos saying, "Racist, racist!", "She is a racist!" or "Go away, racist!".

Eventually, outnumbered, Oldbie ended up leaving the Park area defeated by the crowd who confronted her bullying. Newbie was left to sit on the stump peacefully.

Though the incident left me feeling down, Catero came back and cheered me up with a little goofiness. In the end, midnight rolled in and we experienced a brief Christmas morning in Pico, wishing one another a special "Merry Christmas".

Why do some Picos believe that new members are stupid and have no rights or are entitled to less rights than the rest of us? Pico doesn't belong to only one group of people. Being users who have stuck around doesn't give us a special license to mistreat those who are not-so-new. Pico was created for everyone to enjoy. New and old members alike have equal rights to all of the wonderful public areas that Pico has to offer.

In Pico we don't have to earn the right to stand or sit in particular place, visit certain areas, speak to specific people, etc. We all are given that same right the moment we sign up and agree to the Ameba Pico Terms of Use to become a new member.

Do you have a story?
If you have encountered or spoken out against discrimination in Pico please share it with us and it will be posted at the end of Discrimination Awareness Week.

Send your email to picoperfect@gmail.com.

Pigg wigs

Yes, Ameba Pigg (Pico's older Japanese counterpart) is very similar to Pico ... but rocks it in so many ways. Pigg has an addictive fishing game, public rooms galore, and more fashion, furniture and accessories than you can shake a stick at.

But don't despair, Picos! We're still catching up. Pigg is older, after all. Many of the rooms and products we see in Pico were launched in Pigg first. Pets in New Zealand, Pico Casino, and the Hawaii, Japan and France travel rooms all started in Pigg.

There are many similarities ... yet many differences.

One area that I wish Pico would catch up very soon is wigs.

When I'm spending time gambling my C$ away in the Pigg Casino (always hoping for the jackpot) or hanging out in the many parks in search of props, or enjoying the relaxation of  fishing I often see Piggs with extraordinary hair.

As I was leisurely going about my Pigg life, if I would see someone with an interesting wig, I would take a photo. I'll share them with you.

Since I don't know the names, I'll just give them my own names. ^^

Low side ponytail

There are styles in Pigg that have already crossed over into Pico, like the Gorgeous Side Ponytail with Rose Accessory shown above. The color choices we have in Pico are limited to a dirty blonde, a butter blond and a blueish-black. In Pigg, they've got dark brown and auburn. C'mon Pico, give us more color options.

Crimped topside ponytail (left), traditional ponytail (middle, right)

The Pico management has been holding out on you, yes. There are many other ponytail styles on the other side.

French curls

Though I must admit that I'm not a fan of the 19th century style of powdered wigs with tight French curls, I can see this flamboyant style being a lot of fun and a great novelty costume piece.

Messy rock star (left), Edward Scissorhands special (middle x2), pirate dreadlocks (right)

From what I have seen, there is definitely more of a selection of wigs for girl Piggs in comparison to boy Piggs. I think we can all testify that this is the same in Pico. The styles that I have seen grace the heads of indie rock band members the world over.

Cascading half-up/down prom hair

Of course, there are styles that suit female rock divas too ... one's that won't look too out of place after some energetic head bopping. Hmmm ... I wonder how many extension pieces are in there.

Messy top bun

For the most part the hair pieces I see in Pigg are relaxed and casual; styles you might see or have in your every day life - straight, wavy, curly, crimped.

Wavy hair with a braided crown

Just as in Pico, many Pigg players jazz up their wigs with hair decorations. There is certainly a big selection of hair accessories in Pigg.

Wavy with wispy bangs (right)

Whatever your style, there's probably a wig in Pigg that suits you. Unfortunately, they cost Ameba Gold (called "ameGold" in Pigg) and don't allow Token use. This is why we need to rally together and petition the Ameba Pigg admins to give us the same stuffs in Pico ... where at least we can fill out surveys with fake info to earn Gold.

Wiggin' out!
Before I close off, here's a short hair rant. Pun intended.

Dear Pico, the unisex Wild & Short Hair Style [1] [2] that is the only "party wig" for boy Picos is just not cutting it. Yes, pun intended again.

Maybe there are some out there who really like it. Great. Please offer some other styles for those - like me - who think looks a bit too much like a bad (and very conspicuous) toupee.

Have a hairy Pico life! Wait. That doesn't sound right. Just have a happy one.
