The Word of the Week

Written by: ROM-eo™

The word of the week is “chillax”.
Verb
chillax (third-person singular simple present chillaxes, present participle chillaxing, simple past and past participle chillaxed)
Chillax is a mixture between “chill out” and relax.
1. To chill and relax simultaneously.
2. To loosen or reduce the level of stress by employing a more relaxed and groovy outlook.

Have you ever been overwhelmed that you just don’t know what to do? Sometimes we need to sit back and take a break. After playing my hand at Gacha and I receive an item 4 times, I just chillax for a while and try again later. When things get tough or overwhelming, just chillax and everything will be okay.

The Word of the Week

Written by: ROM-eo™
This weeks word is "gusto".
Doing something with gusto is doing it with great energy and enthusiasm. It describes eager enjoyment or keen appreciation for something. Example: "I played Roulette today with gusto even though I lost half of my casino credits."
Gusto originally meant taste. In 1620 it was borrowed from the Italian, which comes from the Latin gustus (taste). It evolved from simply describing an affection for a certain food to mean a keen fancy for food, drink or other pleasures. Now I am asking you to please use "gusto" at least once this week. Use the word "gusto" in a letter, to describe something you were doing, or tell a story to a friend using the word. The possibilities are endless. I'm writing right now with gusto.

Please Come Back

Written by: ROM-eo™

Pico Perfect is missing something.

It is not whole right now.

It feels like we have been robbed.

It isn’t the same without you being here.

The time you not being here has left us feeling depressed, and lost.

We can’t just move on without you.

We just keep asking ourselves...

Why did this have to happen?

We wish that you would come back.

Please, let’s just put the rest of this behind us and try to move on.

Catero we all appreciate you so very much.

Please come back and fill this empty void.

If you decide not to come back, just know you will be greatly missed.

A Little Bio on ROM-eo™

Written by: ROM-eo™

Ello there my name is ROM-eo™

First of all I love to share my thoughts and opinions. How did I found Ameba Pico? Through a friend after constant begging for me to get on, and let’s just say it was love at first sight. My favorite part of Pico is being able to talk people from all over the world. My favorite food is Orange chicken with fried rice, my favorite candies are Tropical Starburst, smoothie skittles, dots (mother won’t let me have them but I eat them anyway) and gummy bears (absolute favorite). I love photography and I would like to go to college for it, but I am looking into becoming a dentist or dental hygienist. I am interested in fashion and when I am not on Pico you can find me at a mall or sleeping or on tumblr. I have one younger sister and one step sibling who annoy me. I’m from America, but I wish to have a British accent because I think that they are amazing. I try to balance school work and internet life accordingly, but sometimes fail. I graduate from school in less than 2 weeks and I have been looking forward to that since the day my mother first dropped me off at pre-school. I have nothing against school; I get good grades (have yet to get a C) it’s just school can become a hassle. I’m not in a relationship, but I wish to be in one whatever happens will happen for a reason. I find almost everything funny, and I remain above the influence. My favorite artists are: Maroon 5, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj, Far East Movement, and anything else on the Hollister playlist. My favorite song at the moment would have to be Young Forever by The Ready Set. I try my best to be as nice as I possibly can, but I am human so I do have the tendency to snap at certain points when I’m pushed to the edge. I hate rude ignorant people and I don’t affiliate myself with them. My favorite movies are: The Switch, Easy A, The Hang Over, Avatar, and anything by Dinsey (I’m a kid at heart). Kingdom Hearts is my life and I also like racing and fighting video games. I make an attempt to exercise for 1-2 hours a day and I use to practice archery. I play the guitar and can speake a little Spanish. Well there is a little bio on me and I am so happy to be a part of Pico Perfect.

A Concert You Would Not Want to Miss.

Written by: ROM-eo™

April 24, 2011 where was I? I was at one of the most spectacular, thrilling, breathtaking, stunning, concerts witnessed in a Pico’s room. And to whom do we give honor for this event? No one other than HՁO. The room was set up like a real concert hall, fans surrounded the stage, and you even had to queue just to get to the second room (where the concert was being held). The room was packed; if it were a real concert it would have been sold out in a matter of seconds. We were told that the first star was getting ready and that he would be on stage in 15 minutes.

After the 15 minute wait the first star made his appearance on stage. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson appeared and the fans went crazy. At certain points of his performance, you couldn't even see his face because it was being covered by all of the chat boxes filled with excitement. The crowd sang along with him as he sang "Thriller". He moon walked up and down the stage and truly amazed and captivated the audience. He almost looked like the real Michael Jackson
himself.

I thought that just being able to see the first performance was a great, but then “She” appeared. At first the crowed couldn't contain themselves, but they settled down enough for her to reveal her true identity it was Lady Gaga who also made an appearance at the concert. The beautiful and multi talented phenomenon dazzled us with her presence alone. From the moment she was sitting in the bath tub we knew that she would be performing “Bad Romance” for us. Lady Gaga connected with audience on a personal level and was able to get them involved in the act by singing along with her.

The show delivered all of the expected delights of both Lady Gaga, and Michael Jackson.
The queue was worth the wait and luckily I got their just in time to get a good spot. Hopefully HՁO will throw another event like this again and who knows maybe you might get the chance to see Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson or other stars. Be on the lookout.

A friendly tip from ROM-eo™

Written by: ROM-eo

A token can go a long way, if you spend it right. Why spend Ameba Gold on an item that you can buy with a token? The possibilities with a token aren't as limited as you think.

You can buy things for your wardrobe, actions, room decor, and a lot of other wonderful things too! I will let you in on a little secret my favorite white combat boots were bought with a token and that’s the best token I have ever spent. It doesn't make sense to spend 230 Ameba Gold on a sweater that you can use a token for. Some items on Pico are worth simply gold and some are worth gold and tokens. I understand if you buy an item that is simply gold, but if you want to save extra gold use a token instead on items that require them. If you can afford not even pay attention to tokens, then by all means carry on. However, if you are frugal like me you, using a token just might save you some Gold. Gaining a token may take two weeks, but patience is a virtue and you will be rewarded for your wait.

Having to buy gold every now and then can become a hassle, and it seems like almost everything today is gold. Premium Gacha really wouldn’t bother me as much if they didn’t give you the same item repeatedly.Like me, it probably aggravates you when you expect to get that one Gacha item you desire the most but then end up with 7 of the same things and you already previously have 5 of the other items in your wardrobe.

Even though it pains me to continue playing Gacha, I will never stop. Hopefully something could be done so that we wouldn't have to experience getting the same items over and over again. I hope my little Token use/Gold saving tip was a bit usefully to you. Just some friendly advice from me to you.

Dear, Ameba; Sincerely, Pico

Written by: ROM-eo™

Have you ever by any chance received a letter on Pico with such horrible grammar and spelling that you would think that it needed to be translated just to get some sort of understanding of it? These letters could just show up randomly without even knowing person that sent it to you. You would think when you got notified that you received a letter it would contain something uplifting, flattering, or cheerful. But, then you view your letters and see that you are now being harassed. You are now being sworn at and insulted with language that shouldn’t even be suitable for a sailor. I thought letters were supposed to be enjoyable, but some just chose to abuse that privilege.

Have you ever noticed that the people who curse at you tend to have atrocious spelling and grammar? They think that their “sentence enhancers” will make their insults more effective, but actually it makes them look uneducated and atrocious along with their horrid spelling and grammar. These people also tend to hide behind their curse words in order to make up for their lack of intellect. It’s like that one person in your class who is not only ugly, but also rude. You tried to overlook their appearance and find something pleasant within their personality, but because they are rude it depletes your respect for them. We should also feel sympathy for these people, because they are acting foolish and they can’t even see it. There isn't a need to retaliate back either because they have already made themselves look like simpletons.

Not all letters are harassments.
Like, me you probably look forward to receiving a letter. There’s that moment when you hear the notification sound then you open your letters tab and then there is a letter; it’s like magic. It means a lot to know that someone cared enough to send you something. Someone took the time out of their day to send you something thoughtful and that truly is kind. Even if they didn't say much or if they just said “hi” it’s the little things that put a smile on your face.
I hope you all continue to receive positive letters during your Pico experience. If you are being harassed through a letter just discard it and remember that person isn’t worth your time. Lastly your vocabulary should include profanity because it will make your personality seem ugly.

Pico Maintenance Syndrome

Written by: ROM-eo™

Yes, at some point we have all have gone through it ... at least once. You do know what I am talking about right? Ameba Pico Maintenance. These maintenance schedules drive us crazy, but they must be done.

There are pros and cons (good and bad aspects) for maintenance. For example ...
Pro: Maintenance procedures bring new events and or better improvements to Pico.
Con: Pico users have to wait for 2 hours or more WITHOUT PICO ... and who wants to be without Pico?
What are we suppose to do for that period of time? How are we supposed to go on without being able to play Pico? How do we survive these horrible maintenance schedules?

All will be told shortly.

Symptoms of Pico Maintenance Syndrome:
  • Anxiety
  • Constant refreshing your browser
  • Feeling a sense of emptiness
  • Confusion
  • Aggression
  • Depression

Maintenance can last from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Within that period of time you could be doing something productive. Just because maintenance is scheduled doesn't mean you have to sit around and wait for Pico to be back up. There are other things that you could do while maintenance is occurring. For example: read a book, do homework, browse other websites, play Ameba Pigg, take a nap, watch television or a movie, or enjoy the outdoors.

Overall, it’s nice to get fresh air once in a while and it will make you feel better.

What are you doing right now? You are reading this post on this wonderful blog. While maintenance is going on you can catch up on the latest articles brought to you by Pico Perfect. That's what I would do.

I often go to the Pico’s Facebook page and look up others reactions to the maintenance that users like you and I comment on the wall. That could possibly amuse you. It amuses me.

Youtube is sometimes the answers to all of our problems, so it could be the answer to your Ameba Pico maintenance blues (look up Rebecca Black Friday ... lol!).

Yes, there are many things that you could do while there is Pico maintenance scheduling.

I conducted a  recent survey, asking others to share their reactions and feelings about Pico maintenance. Here are the results:

(06:57) ROM-eo™: Thanks, for your participation
(06:57) Sєxqυιѕιтє: De rien.
(06:57) Sєxqυιѕιтє: ;D

Ren?
07:57) ROM-eo™: How do you feel towards pico maintenance?
(07:57) Ren?: I feel like I have no life if Pico is down.
(07:57) ROM-eo™: Do you ever get angry/upset towards it?
(07:57) Ren?: Not really. Just empty.
(07:58) ROM-eo™: =[
(07:58) Ren?: Because I know they are improving Pico.
(07:58) ROM-eo™: What do you do while maintenance is occurring?
(07:58) Ren?: I don't really do much. I just .. sit there.
(07:58) Ren?: And keep refreshing.

Don’t look at maintenance as a hassle or inconvenience, think on the brighter side. Just last week we had maintenance and look what good came out of that: A brand new area, France!

If you haven’t checked France out you really should and be sure to stay for the fashion show.

All-in-all, we need to gain patience. Although Pico may be down for a brief time it will not be down forever.

I hope this helps you get through maintenance in the future.

P.S. Pico is lagging write now as I write this post. It has been on the loading page for 15 minutes. Time for a movie.

Hot or Not? That is the Question

Written by: ROM-eo™

For some time now Picos have either thrown “Hot or Not” events or have participated in them. The object of these events is to be rated on your Pico’s appearance. Not only are these events shallow, but they are dumb.

What is the point of these events? To find out if your good looking or not? Would you really value the judgment of another person over your own judgment of yourself?

If you haven’t been to one of these “Hot or Not” events I'll give you the basic idea of it:
  1. You walk into the room.
  2. You are told to line up
  3. You wait patiently in line for your turn
  4. You step up to the judge(s) and they then rate you ("hot", "not", "pretty", "ugly", or rating you from 1-10 in terms of your appearance, etc.)
  5. If you are "hot" in their opinion you pass on, but if are "not" you are kicked or ignored
Sometimes, the room is set up with a special area only for the Picos that are “good looking” according to the event hose. The only way to gain entry in that area is to meet the judge’s definition of hot.

What exactly is hot? Is it having clothes brought with Ameba Gold? Is it your Pico’s physical features? Is it having clothes bought with Gummies? Is it having connections with the right crowd? No one actually knows. Everyone has their own opinion of “hot”. That opinion should only matter to the direct appearance a person and to no one else.

Like it or not YOUR judgment of yourself should be kept to your personal standard of how you conduct yourself.

I find these events ridiculous and uncalled for. It’s not fair to those who "don’t make the cut". What do you think goes through their head when they are told they aren’t good looking?

For the people who did make the cut and are sitting around laughing at those who don’t make it you should be ashamed.

Everyone in our Pico community is equal. I’m no different from you; you are no different from me. We all are equal and that’s what we are starting to forget.

It’s not even about being an Ameba Gold or Gummie user anymore. Gummie users throw "Hot or Not " events aso do Ameba Gold users. Gummie users rate people in their events and so do Ameba Gold users.

I actually believe that some of the people who go to these events and or throw them are a little insecure with themselves as well. You shouldn’t be judging anyone but yourself. It’s alright to get a compliment here and there, but honestly, do you really need judgment on your looks from another? YOUR, opinion of yourself is the only one that matters. As long as you feel good about yourself, nothing else will matter. I believe that inner beauty is more important than outside beauty.

I know that some of you who throw these events mean no harm, but just take this post into consideration.

This is Pico. We should be able to escape the harmful effects of being stigmatized in certain groups. Your judgment of yourself is the only judgment you should be concerned with. You shouldn’t go around judging others based on their appearance without getting to know them. And if you are going to judge someone, please do it based upon their personality not their looks. We are all equal whether you like it or not. You are and will be everything you aspire to be, do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

Lesson of the day: Your opinion of only YOURSELF is the only one that counts.

Please help support Japan as ♔ℓเgħтηเηg has asked before. Continue to wear red and white until the end of the month. And if you are in the position to do so please donate, Japan is in a great need of help right now.

The Prince and the Pauper

Written by: ROM-eo™

We’ve all heard the story of The Prince and the Pauper, right? Well, if not I will explain the basic gist: a prince and a peasant switch clothes to shed the stresses of their own lives and see how it’s like living the other's life.

I have noticed that people are sort of mean to the "newbie" or "noob" Picos and I wanted to see what this treatment was like to get a better understanding.

Getting into my Closet I took off the more sophisticated clothing that I normally wear and put on a pair of grey pants that I used to wear in my own newbie days. I walked around Pico and went to events and let me just say, IT’S A TOUGH JOB BEING A NEWBIE. People
are disrespectful and rude; they ignore you and don’t want to be near you. In fact this
began to bring back memories from when I first started Pico.

I was kicked out of 14 events in 1 day just for being a newbie ... and that has never happened to me before. A majority of the time I would walk into the event and say hello and the owner would either say “Ew” or “GTFO” and then my screen would turn grey, letting me know I'd been kicked out of the room. I don’t understand why? Do you not like
my clothes? Why do you judge based on appearance? Why don’t you judge me by my personality and
take it from there?

Here is an example of what would happen when I would go into an event. I have a heart so I took her name out.
(08:11) ROM-eo™: hi
(08:11) ROM-eo™: how are you?
(08:11) נα∂є******: GET OUT
(08:11) ROM-eo™: ...
(08:11) נα∂є******: U POOR UGLY ASS
(08:11) ROM-eo™: why?
(08:11) ROM-eo™: =[
(08:11) ROM-eo™: is it because im ugly?
(08:11) נα∂є******: GET UR ASS OUTTA MA MOUSE
(08:11) נα∂є******: YES ITS CUZ UR UGLY
(08:12) ROM-eo™: why are you judging on my appearance though?
(08:12) ROM-eo™: =[
(08:12) ROM-eo™: i can't afford good clothes at the moment
(08:12) נα∂є******: BECAUSE UR UGLY NO ONE UGLY ALLOWED
(08:12) ROM-eo™: what if i put on a shirt, i have a gacha one
(08:13) נα∂є******: NO JUSTR GET OUT OF MY HOUSE
(08:13) ROM-eo™: oh, ok
(08:13) ROM-eo™: have a nice day
(08:13) נα∂є******: FU/ CK OFF GET OPUT
(08:13) ROM-eo™: wow.
When I would travel around on Pico people would either ignore me or insult me. I've never seen so many insults with the word "noob" in my Pico experience!

People, Pico is supposed to be a happy and friendly environment, not a hostile, shallow, and elitist environment. If you have to judge by appearance then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to socialize at all.

It's kind of funny because after I would get insulted, I would change into my normal attire and people would change their perspectives of me and want to be my friend. This proves that people are shallow.

I do not want to sound like a hypocrite; I get into arguments with people too, but it is never due to their appearance. I only act on how a person carries themselves and their personality. Looks do not matter to me and they shouldn't matter to you.

So, the lesson for today is to think twice before judging a person. You never know who that person could be. Learn to like and respect all Picos because they have feelings too. And, yes, even though newbies maybe naïve and annoying they still have feelings.

Remember, at some point you were a newbie too.
